The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Zone ‘A’, has decorated newly promoted officers in a ceremony highlighting the Service’s commitment to excellence and professional development.
Speaking at the event held on Thursday, 23 January 2025, at the Customs Training College, Ikeja, Lagos, the Zonal Coordinator, Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) Charles Orbih, congratulated the officers and commended their dedication, integrity, and contributions to Nigeria’s economic security.
In his address, ACG Orbih remarked, “Your elevation is a testament to your exceptional dedication, unwavering integrity, and outstanding contributions to our nation’s economic security.”
He underscored the fairness and thoroughness of the promotion process, stating, “The Service has ensured that merit and performance remain the foundation of career advancement by selecting the very best among its officers for promotion.”
ACG Orbih also emphasised the importance of upholding high service standards and ethical conduct, noting, “A lot more is expected of you because of this well-deserved promotion. Wherever you are assigned, you must exemplify the leadership qualities expected of you.”
To officers who were not promoted, the ACG encouraged perseverance and preparation for future opportunities.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, the Scanner Manager of NCS Apapa Command and newly decorated Comptroller of Customs (CC), Salamatu Atuluku, expressed gratitude to Almighty God and the NCS management under the leadership of Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Adewale Adeniyi.
“We are deeply grateful for being found worthy to be part of this exercise,” she said. “We pledge to deliver our best in fulfilling the Nigeria Customs Service’s mandates.”
The ceremony demonstrated the Service’s continuous efforts to reward dedication and inspire professionalism within its ranks.
