The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has appointed Chief Increase Uche as its substantive national president.
Uche has been on acting capacity since the demise of late president, Oluwole Adeyemi, who was appointed in 2016.
Addressing journalists shortly after the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Lagos on Thursday, the newly appointed president reiterated the association's commitment to fully participate in the forthcoming Council for the Regulation of Freight forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) governing board elections and its desire to gun for its chairmanship.
Speaking against the background of the controversial Professional Operating Fee (POF) collection which is expected to commence in August, he noted that NAGAFF will continue to champion its collection, saying that it would enable CRFFN to function effectively and optimally.
The newly appointed president argued that members of NAGAFF ought to have produced the first council chairman by right, pointing out that "nobody in NAGAFF is afraid of the forthcoming elections into the council because we have qualified and registered members of the council"
Uche in his maiden media chat stated that capacity building is a key factor that would assist the association in freight forwarding practice from the maritime sub sector, assuring adequate training and retraining in total transport logistics chain for members
Speaking on his kind of leadership style, he said all hands must be on deck to ensure that members are trained to meet with the dynamics of the profession, promising to lead by example.
